Delurk If You Love Jesus!

The Great Mofo Delurk 2007

Ok, so I'm a day late on this. When have I ever been on time for anything?

The point is that now is the time to come out of lurking. If you're just stopping by, or if Google--in its infinite wisdom--brought you here by accident, drop a line and tell me something about yourself. Like, what's your favorite Jeopardy category?

If you're a regular commenter, post something anyway. I need validation, damnit!

Here's validation for you:

If you're using the slang version of the words "damn" and "it" combined into one word, it's actually spelled "dammit."

Because slang is entirely dependent upon hooked on fonix. Or is that phoniks? Fawnics?

Any time it's a movie category or "Books & Authors," put your signaling button down 'cause I'm running it. I feel they don't ask enough about baseball (about which I know a lot) and way too much about rivers (about which I know next to nothing.) If I were trying out for Jeopardy, I'd definitely be well-advised to study up on rivers. Like the Danube, for instance. Big important river, right? I have no idea where it is. Yeah...definitely gotta study up on rivers...

Umm....I'll take obscure sock puppet shows for 500. Or "name that song from Rent." Yeah, I would kick ass at those categories.

And never fear, I lurk not. I proudly stand by my rambling often nonsensical blog comments.

I just realized something.

I was never lurking to begin with.

So I can't "delurk."

Does that mean I don't love Jesus?

"Words that begin with 'lurk'" We need to get you some more commenters, so here is my bit of validation.

I'll take "Methods of Validation" for 100, Alex.

I'm a big fan of Jeopardy. Matt always accused me of cheating because I would shout out the answer before Alex finished reading the question. Apparently the ACTUAL contestants don't get to answer until the question is read, so I am not playing by the rules. Not that he's competitive or anything....

Anyway, I'm here to officially delurk. Love the blog!

On the actual show, sis, if you buzz in early, you get locked out.

We used to have the Nintendo (and I'm talking the original Nintendo - none of this Wii stuff of whatever it's called) Anyway, we had Jeopardy for Nintendo. Man, it was awesome.

And now, I have officially proved once and for all that I am total geek. "Hi, my name is Kelli and Nintendo Jeopardy had me at hello."

Hope you're feeling a bit more validated with the comments - they are a grand thing to receive aren't they? Almost like Christmas...

Don't feel so bad Kelli, back in college half of our floor used to crowd into Matt's dorm room to play Jeopardy on on his computer. On, like, a Saturday night!

If I had known you were such a fan (of if I had known you all then) we totally would have invited you over.

First time here, so I don't know if I count as a lurker...

Favorite Jeopardy category...80's sitcoms. I can rock that ;)

so, i wanted to share this with you...

my love for "reality bites" is fairly well documented, but there's something about the ending that just does not sit well. I was online looking for something else and came across this beautfiully written review, and thought you should take a look. This lady really knows what she's talking about:

You know, I think good movie reviews can read like some of the best nonfiction writing out there.

Back in junior high, Tiff and I had to create a game for our math class, so we developed "Mathpardy!", which still makes me chuckle. Favorite Mathpardy category? Would definitely be GBN Math Teachers.

If you don't write a new post soon, I'm going to have to focus all my commenting energies on Neetu's inexplicable "fairly well-documented" love of Reality Bites.

Nothing gets by you, matt.

Actually, my love for reality bites may actually be in print-- in The Notebook itself!.

Also my first time to your blog but I read it all in one sitting! So maybe I now qualify as a lurker? Love your blog, great writing (I aspire to involve writing in my career as well, and it seems to be a disappointing reality...any tips for a 23 year old new to the job market). And also, I love the french word for grapefruit, it's on of my favorites and I nearly laughed out loud when I read it was yours too. Keep blogging!

Okay I'm totally late on this, but I started reading your blog, and I'm enjoying it, so I'll "delurk." I loved your "Funship" post, probably becuase I'm lucky to be enjoying that cruise right now... Yay
